Founded by Stephen Spencer and his 2 partners in 1959.After returning from World War 2. Stephen and & partners provided chauffeured limousine services for affluent upper East Side clients to Broadway shows, Theatre, and airports.
On Nov 11th, 1961, Spencer’s officially incorporated under Cadillac Chauffeured Limousine Service with Cadillac Cars to compete with J.Paul Carey’s Grand Central Cadillac Renting Corp., which later became known as the Carey Cadillac Touring Company. Cadillac Chauffeured Limousine Service continued to hire and attract the very best taxi drivers into their network. Mr. Spencer’s English background allowed him to outperform Carey Cadillac when he visited a distant relative in London.
VISITING LONDON:
Mr. Spencer was impressed by the British London Taxi drivers navigational expertise and their rigorous training standards. The continued training of London Taxi drivers is what is referred to as “the knowledge”.
